Since You’ve Been Gone

Since you’ve been gone,

My mind has been filled with

Thoughts of days past,

And how forever I believed we would last.

Thinking of you so much you‘ve become my obsession,

But what is love but the strongest and uncontrollable obsession?

Love is as a rainy summers day,

Unexpected and wonderful,

Bringing you feelings of such joy that you must

Stand in it to quench your desires.

And after the rain subsides,

You are left feeling lonely and cold as the breeze starts up.

Such is love, wonderful yet,

Leaving you damp and cold after it is gone.

As gentle as the breeze is the sound of goodbye,

But also as devastating as a great quake.

Your heart crumbles to pieces,

And restoration is a long process,

Only to start over again.

When my love passes by

It is as if a tornado of emotion attacks my body,

I shiver and become suddenly dumb,

Not knowing what to say or even how to speak.

And as quickly as she appears,

She is gone.

And once again I am left

Standing alone.
